In March, Karin Rehnqvist will be going to New York, where there will be a major Portrait Concert with her work at the Miller Theatre. The Either/Or ensemble will be playing, and the vocal artists will be Lena Willemark and Ulrika Bodén. One of the pieces on the program will be a world premiere, dedicated to Either/Or: Raven Chant.

21 march 2012: Lecture in composition at Columbia University.

22 march 2012: Composer Portrait at Miller Theatre, Columbia. Rehnqvist is the first Swedish composer in this series.

 

Gustaf Sjökvist will conduct the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir in the world premiere of Sven-David Sandström’s new Requiem (2011). The premiere is scheduled for 22nd March 2013 in Berwaldhallen, Stockholm with the Swedish Radiochoir- and Orchestra. Lasting about 60 minutes the Requiem is a large scale work including Symphony Orchestra, six part choir and four vocal soloists.
